Blessed be...
This time of year is about the shift from growing and expanding to dying and contracting. It’s a common story and one we must be used to seeing. The trees lose their leaves and the ground is covered in multi-colored tapestries.
Of course the colors in the trees are breathtaking, so many shades of yellow and orange and red, it is a miracle, an overabundance of hues, what a delight. Yet, once the leaves have fallen, there is another spectacle awaiting us if we take the time to look. Leaves from many trees in many colors come together, apparently by accident, to make elegant designs at our feet.
I love these. The closer I look the more I see. It’s worth the effort - to look, to frame, to remember.
