Too much color
It was the same day as the last image, in Forest Hills Cemetery and the interplay of colors here was striking. The rhododendrons in bloom, the leaves on the shrubs, and the yellow/green pollen coating the water combine to make a graceful, colorful image.
I ended up processing this image 3 different times. Each time, one or another color was over the top, too saturated. It was hard to find a balance that was interesting but also reflected the essence of the reality of the scene in front of me. I don’t mind messing with contrast or color in the name of a more effective image and reality be damned! But that works better with abstract scenes, or so it seems to me.
This is the third iteration of this shot and I am almost satisfied with it. I just keep wondering if there’s a bit more definition I can give to the reflections in the water. But for the moment, I’m pleased.
What do you think??
