Another...

I thought the series of shots of reflections in the water at Jamaica Pond was complete. But yesterday, as I walked around the Pond for the first time in a while, I got an urge to try one. It was a sunny day and the wind was stiff. So there was lots of movement and the light was intense. I wanted to capture the play of the light on the diverse elements in the image - water, rocks, roots, branches: a similar impulse as the earlier work but the strong focus on light shifted the image a bit.

This is a busy image! Lots going on and I’m not sure how it works. I just shot it yesterday so I haven’t had a chance to sit with it, to figure out what I think of it. I know there are elements in here that I really enjoy. But whether it works as a whole, that’s less clear to me. This is usually the case with my new shots - takes a while to sort ‘em out…
