Life and Death and Trees

I’ve been much more intentional during the time I spend looking at trees. I’m trying to figure out how to capture what I want to highlight about them, including their grace and tenacity. More important for me is this: we are sharing the planet with beings that live at a significantly different pace than humans do.

So the tree in this image has both vibrantly alive and dead limbs. It’s been around for over a hundred years and even with this beginning decline likely has at least decades more life (assuming the City doesn’t decide to cut it down).

I’m not sure that this image says what I’m wanting to portray but I do feel like I’m slowly getting closer. I’m going to let the images lead and the words follow – always good advice for me! Stay tuned.
