Spring snow

Marc GoldringComment

It was not yet spring but the air had the scent of spring. And overnight a rainstorm encountered chill air and all of a sudden there were a few inches of snow everywhere except roadways. It clung to trees, especially their branches and, notably, the thinnest of limbs. This ephemeral coating of ice and snow was gone in less than half a day, as the air warmed and the snow melted.

I’m glad I happened by, as I do every morning. An afternoon walk might have missed this. If that were the case, I’d guess there was something else equally magical to encounter.
