Almost ice
Walking around the Pond as the air warms to almost above freezing, it isn’t hard to remember it’s still winter. There is ice on the water, although it is melting slowly and steadily in the almost 40 degree afternoon. What’s wonderful is the color of the ice as it becomes water again. There is a palette of grays and some oranges and browns thrown in.
I feel quiet as I look on this scene, We are in a moment of transition. Surely we’re not leaving winter yet, it’s hardly even begun! Yet the moment is one of those intermediate transitional moments that comprise our patterns of weather, those changeable patterns that are changing now more than ever.
For today, I just look, notice the subtle flow of ice to water and reflect on the blessings of a season that can manifest such changes.
