The edge of the ice

The days bounce between temperatures above and below freezing and the Pond reflects that seasonal dance with watery and frozen areas playing out on its surface. This monochromatic celebration of textures portrays more movement than I expect to see in winter.

Even as I enjoy this image, I can’t figure out the metaphor that sits with it, as though there’s something to seet other than obvious observations of the distinction between the soft, smooth ice and the crackling re-formed ice.

I do know it’s fun to look at. Perhaps that’s all that’s needed. I think I’ll leave it at that: it’s fun to look at!
