Accidentally
We were walking back from the playground in Dorchester Park, the new one with the elegant and playful structures to climb on. We took a different path to the street, just because, to explore. We came upon an older park bench with peeling paint and rusted arm rests. A leaf sat in a depression, covered with ice.
I wasn’t expecting to shoot but this image was so unexpectedly lovely to look at. It overcame my distaste for the institutional green color of the bench. I noticed yet again the interplay of the natural and human worlds, one of my oldest photographic preoccupations.
So it seems to follow me everywhere! The opportunity to see something outside my expectations and hang with lt long enough to connect and come close to making art. Sounds good!!
