Not a pond
Another new place to walk - along the Neponset River as it widens to empty into the harbor. The trail is mostly flat, an old railbed I suspect. It curves around, under Interstate 93 and the Red Line and it’s a bit surreal to see this sylvan landscape and listen to cars and trucks and trains. I guess that’s our world, yet another confusing juxtaposition of sounds and images.
We came to an embankment as the river gave into the harbor, or as close as we could figure out to get to that place. So we sat. And looked.
I can’t explain why I like this image. Partly it’s the mix of sharp focus and blur and the array of colors, some of which I’m not used to seeing in the water - mostly the blues and purples toward the top. There’s also the interplay of rocks under water and the grass, growing above the water. The grass grounds me, it’s so…green.
Lots to look at!
