Scenic
I’m not generally given to straight landscape shots. I prefer if there is something beyond pretty scenery to look at, something that captures my eyes, my brain, or my heart. So I’m a bit surprised that I landed on this shot of the Neponset River from the walking bridge along the bike trail on the way to Mattapan Square.
It does feel like a quiet, slow scene and I enjoy that, especially because I know it was taken near several major city streets. So the quiet is limited to this image rather than the scene. That’s OK, I’ll take it.
This is an iPhone photograph which, among other things, means that the phone/camera has done a lot of the processing, made many, perhaps most of the decisions about contrast, saturation, and the like. I’ve overriden some of these in my post-processing, but I do find it constraining. Still, on the bike the camera in my phone is available in a way my Olympus E-M5 mk iii isn’t. So I’ll settle for limitations.
