Another shot from Scarboro Pond in Franklin Park, this one a bit hard to read. I’ll have to go back to the Pond to make sure my description is accurate but here it is: This is the reflection of a large tree limb that had fallen but was still attached to the trunk. As I’m remembering it, the entire shot is reflection, there isn’t any of the remaining tree in the frame.

At least I think that’s what I remember. But honestly I don’t know how important that is. Sometimes I shoot intentionally and have a specific aim and image in mind. Sometimes, I just shoot. That’s what this one is. I was a bit distracted, trying to shoot with my newly de-cataract-ed right eye in the viewfinder after 20 years of shooting with my left. So I don’t recall looking that carefully at what I shot. There I said it! (I do know I was using my right eye, for what that’s worth!)

The moral of the story is that it’s only the image that matters. How it came about can be interesting and enlightening. But it’s just the image that counts. And the subtle, mysterious textures and colors of this image work for me. I’ll let you know if I learn anything more about it when I’ve been back to the Pond!
