Slow spring

A change of pace, after a series of shots of decaying retaining walls! Finally something that registers as a conventional vista. I don’t usually shoot vistas but that is mostly because my attention is focused somewhere closer in, rather than that I don’t appreciate vistas!

And this season the attraction to scenic shots is strong - spring seems to be lasting forever. The trees hoard their flowers rather than rushing into leaves.

To my delight! What a symphony of shades of green and yellow! It is a consuming exercise to watch each day the changes to flowers and leaf buds on trees, each species opening and shifting on its own internal timetable. It’s hard to imagine how many possible shades of green and yellow might exist, certainly impossible to catalog.

Truly, this array of color goes beyond any human need for possibility; indeed, it is the best case argument in favor of divinity.
