It was a comfortable spring day, the sort we’ve not seen in great abundance lately. And here, amid the almost infinite shades of green, two humans sit together, sharing the space and perhaps words.

For me, that’s the focus on this image, even though the humans occupy a minimal amount of space compared to our green co-inhabitants. I’ve no doubt that trees communicate to one another. But it’s so slow that we humans don’t notice or lose interest or just don’t think to sort it out.

People on the other hand, we know they talk - and sometimes even communicate - so we are expecting it.

Still, it’s good to remember scale. We are dwarfed by trees.
