Color Overload

Color Overload

In late October, my early morning walks around Peters Hill start and end in darkness. And of course, the Arboretum, at least on the Peters Hill side, has no street lights. In other words, it’s really dark. What a feeling. I love watching my steps with my feet rather than my eyes, feeling subtle ups and downs without seeing them. I learned that skill living in the woods of New Hampshire way back when.

That said, there’s much to be enjoyed about that same walk in the light of day. You don’t need me to tell you about the colors! Who ever knew that there were so many possible variations of yellow and red and green and everything in between!

This composition of colors and textures eases my heart, helps to offset the daily challenges and minor difficulties of the day. There is much trouble in the world, I don’t deny it. Yet, it’s a comfort to have some moments of beauty to make our paths a bit easier.
