More surreal

As you may remember from my previous post, while walking around Ward’s Pond a few days ago, I took several shots with my iPhone. Considering that I only took 6 shoots, I was amazed that 3 of them were really interesting, exciting in fact.

This is the second of the three. At first I was bothered by how much was going on. Clouds, leaves on the pond bottom, floating leaves, reflected clouds, all affected by water’s ripples - it’s a veritable symphony of visual elements! As I’ve come back to this image, I am not bothered by what’s going on. If anything, that complexity seems to draw me in, rather than turn me off.

Still, I know I’m not always the best judge of my images, especially recent ones - I love all my images at first; after some time the allure can fade. What’s your take on this image? Does it read as complex? Or just busy? Do tell…
