Beech

I’ve been wandering around the Arboretum more than usual and that’s likely to continue. I’m trying to sort out how to shoot. I’ve been shooting trees for a while but I still haven’t sorted out my viewpoint, not exactly. I have a better idea of what I don’t want to say than what I do! It’ll just take some time; it usually does…

I love beech trees, the muscular spread of their branches and the way they shade the understory. I’m not sure I’ve got a good hold on it here but I like the way the branches seem to emerge from a tangle of leaves. But I don’t think this captures the grace of the form.

I’ll try again, I’m sure. And again. It’ll take a while!
