Blessings of light

It’s shocking sometimes, the difference that sunlight makes. I’ve been shooting these close-ups of tree bark for a project I’ve been working on since the fall. In the past month or so, it' seems like I’ve been out in the early mornings and on days when it’s overcast. Not intentionally, that’s just when I’ve happened to be out and about. With everything that’s going on in my life, I’ve not made time for dedicated shooting.

When I looked at this image in Lightroom, I thought, what a difference a bit of light makes! The textures in the bark are more distinct and the colors more vibrant. This yellow-green seems a bit unworldly, or at least un-tree-like. But there is it. And I’m enjoying it!
